Town House, Wells – Contemporary Extension to a Listed Building
This unique project in the historic city of Wells involved the design and delivery of a contemporary extension to a beautiful Georgian listed town house, situated adjacent to a medieval garden wall. Using our in-house conservation architecture expertise, we worked closely with the local Conservation Officer to ensure the proposal was sensitive to its context while offering a bold and modern intervention.
The new extension spans across the garden, connecting the main house to its outdoor space with a design that complements the historic fabric without imitating it. High-quality materials and careful detailing allow the extension to sit comfortably within its heritage setting, providing light-filled, functional space for modern living.
