Extension of a 1930’s House

This project involved the refurbishment, modernisation, and extension of a large 1930s house that had remained largely untouched for many years. The brief was to transform the property into a contemporary family home while retaining the character of the original 1930s architecture.

A key focus was creating a strong connection to the garden, introducing new open-plan living spaces that enhance natural light, flow, and indoor-outdoor living.

Carefully considered design interventions balance traditional character with contemporary materials and glazing, ensuring the extension sits comfortably within the existing building.

The result is a modernised 1930s home that respects its heritage while delivering improved space, light, and connection to the garden.
