Refurbishment and Extension of a 1930s house

This striking 1930s modernist house, with its original curved metal windows and distinctive architectural style, had remained untouched for many years. We carried out a full house refurbishment and extension to sensitively restore and modernise the property, while respecting its original character and charm.

As part of the 1930s house renovation, we installed custom-made aluminium double-glazed windows to replicate the original curved designs — enhancing energy efficiency while preserving the home’s unique appearance.

A carefully designed single-storey extension was added to the front of the property, creating a larger, modern kitchen space and a more functional front entrance. The house extension was designed to blend seamlessly with the original architecture, maintaining the visual language of the 1930s style while upgrading the home for contemporary living.

This project is a prime example of how a 1930s house can be modernised without compromising its heritage — combining thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, and a strong respect for the existing fabric of the building.
